ABOUT ALCATEL SUBMARINE NETWORKS (ASN)
ASN has been associated with submarine networks since the first submarine telegraph cables were laid in the mid-19th century.
ASN is the world’s only fully integrated provider of turnkey submarine network solutions. Part of Nokia, they bring all of the products and know-how needed to design and build optical communications links across the world’s oceans.
From new deployments to network upgrades, and regional links to transoceanic infrastructure, they provide everything – from route selection and surveying through system design, manufacturing, installation and maintenance.

They were in a position where their PSL consisted of multiple agencies on differing fees. ASN also aimed to improve their internal processes as they had a lack of formal internal approval procedures.

ASN'S AIM
ASN’s aim was to engage with a single supplier that would provide some form of on-site presence to partner with their HR team supported by an off-site delivery team. A supply chain was also to be established to support on any very niche or challenging roles. Their objectives were to:
Improve the vacancy fill speed
Improve the calibre of candidates applying for posts
Implement a solution to meet the cyclical nature of the business
Improve candidate and hiring manager experience
It also became clear that as their recruitment is cyclical, they struggled to keep suppliers engaged and felt that when their recruitment needs were lower their suppliers disengaged. ASN wanted a solution that would ensure consistent engagement regardless of volumes and a solution that could be scalable.

This solution significantly reduced the time spent by the client’s hiring community on recruitment and streamlined their internal processes.
The consistent promotion of brand image in conjunction with an enhanced candidate journey has generated greater candidate engagement. This, coupled with the accountability for delivery created by this solution, has shortened time-to-hire and increased fill rates.
